Weekdays...
Beginning once again on Tuesday, May 8,
we will gather on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the Old Port, on the corner of de la Commune and Mill street just before the
bridge, because some skaters park on de la Commune street and don't pass by the Old Port. We meet at 6:00 pm to roll at 6:15...
Be on time!
- On Tuesdays, we set out toward the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. There we devote
about an hour to training (laps around the track) and technique. Together with the
journey there and back, it adds up to two hours of skating. By the way, if you're not in the mood
for training and technique, you can definitely come out for an easy roll! You won't be alone...
- On Thursdays, we set out along the Lachine Canal, continuing to the end of
René Lévesque Park. At several places we regroup to rest and socialize, and the
trip there and back takes about two and a half hours.
(Note that during the summer we meet at 6:15 pm, while in spring/fall we meet at 6:00 pm so as not to skate in the dark.
As long as you're on our mailing list we'll keep you informed of changes.)
Weekends...
On weekends, generally Sundays, we go for longer excursions of 40 to 60 km or more. Most of our weekend
skates take place outside of Montreal on the excellent skate-trails to be found
in the surrounding region. While we occasionally split into groups determined by speed, we
regroup often for rest, lunch, and socializing. For weekend outings we normally
meet at 10 a.m. to roll at 10:15.
See the Calendar for the schedule of our weekend skates.
Bear in mind that changes may occur, so it's best to be on the mailing list
in order to be kept up to date. Here are directions to all of the places where we skate.
If you need transportation, let us know -- there's always someone with a car to share.
You don't have to come out to all the group skates! Some skaters only
coming during the week, while others (especially those who live outside of Montreal)
are only able to join us for the long skates on Sundays. Come once, twice, again,
and you'll be part of the gang.
